National Youth Justice Conference 2017

Registration for this event is now closed. If you wish to enquire about the waiting list, please email cycj@strath.ac.uk.

Now in its tenth year, this free to attend event gives practitioners the chance to hear about the latest youth justice research, share best practice and reflect on the views of young people who have experienced the youth and criminal justice system.

This year’s theme will be ‘Youth Justice: past, present and future’.

Keynote speakers include Jan-Erik Sandlie, Deputy Director General, Directorate of Norwegian Correctional Service and Early Years Research Scientist, Dr Suzanne Zeedyk. Criminal justice academics Professor Bill Whyte (Edinburgh University) and Tim Chapman (Ulster University) who both spoke at the very first conference, will present on what youth justice looks like, ten years on.

Workshops on a variety of topics, including preventing child sexual exploitation online, domestic violence and trauma, will give delegates the chance to learn more about practice issues and learn new skills.

The conference will open for registration at 9am for a 9.45am start on both days. Day 1 will conclude at 4.45pm, and Day 2 will close at 4.15pm. A full programme will be made available closer to the time.
