Next Steps for Restorative Justice in Scotland: Stakeholder Insights and Pathways Forward

CYCJ are delighted to share our report capturing key findings from our event Restorative Justice in Scotland: A Day of Reflection, Learning and Action, with a focus on children and young people, which took place in Glasgow in November 2025, supported by Scottish Government.

The event invited leaders, policy makers, experienced restorative justice (RJ) practitioners, and academics from a broad range of statutory and third sector organisations across Scotland to reflect on learning from the current RJ landscape, and to work together to co-produce next steps for overcoming barriers to ensure RJ is available to all.

Next Steps for Restorative Justice in Scotland – Stakeholder Insights and Pathways Forward summarises rich discussion from throughout the day and offers seventeen key recommendations, which we believe provide deliverable actions to support high quality restorative justice being made available across Scotland to all those who wish to access it.
