AIM3 Training: February and March 2020

Two dates for AIM3 training in Glasgow have been announced. These will take place on February 26 & 27, and March 30 & 31.

Course aim

This two-day course, delivered by the AIM Project, aims to develop practice confidence and competence in completing an AIM3 Assessment with a young person. This training provides the practitioner with skills in analysing harmful sexual behaviour to create profiles of risk and need and develop through case formulation, effective safety plans.

Target audience

This course is targeted at experienced professionals who are working with adolescents with harmful sexual behaviours (HSB). Participants should have a basic understanding of harmful sexual behaviours. In addition, participants also need to have practice experience of complex assessments generally and ideally some experience of assessments of sexual behaviours.

How much does it cost?

For a place with a manual, the cost is £230. A course place only is £130.

Competency Requirement

Please note: We have introduced a competency requirement for this course, to increase the quality of assessments undertaken and improve the impact on outcomes for young people. Participants will be expected to complete a case study at the end of the course, to demonstrate their understanding of the AIM3 model and their potential ability to implement their learning from the course into practice. If successful, the participants will then be certified as competent and approved by AIM to use the AIM3 model.
