Four Nations Secure Care Symposium

Deprivation of liberty, and more specifically the use of secure care, has received increased attention throughout the United Kingdom in recent years. Growing calls for UNCRC incorporation, national reviews of the constituent care systems and consideration of how best to design and deliver security for those children who face, take or make the highest level of risk have all featured throughout youth justice and child welfare discourses.

This online webinar seeks to highlight recent studies in this area, showcasing research from Northern Ireland, Wales, Scotland, and England, in addition to examining international comparisons.

Attendees will be informed of recent studies in this area, and will also have the opportunity to reflect on the significance of these findings within their own jurisdiction.

This webinar is suitable for those with lived experience, practitioners, policy makers and students.

This webinar will take place over Microsoft Teams. Joining instructions will be sent out 24 hours in advance. If you have any questions or issues with signing up please contact cycj@strath.ac.uk
