Making Education Equally Safe for All: Working with young people to prevent gender-based violence

This one day conference was part of the 16 Days of International Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign. It raised awareness of the issue of gender-based violence and highlighted work being done to tackle this within or linked to the University of Strathclyde, as well as by partner agencies.

The theme for the 25th year of the 16 Days Campaign was ‘From Peace in the Home to Peace in the World: Make Education Safe for All’. This conference also marked the launch of the Equally Safe in Higher Education Programme, who co-facilitated the event with the Centre for Youth & Criminal Justice and the Centre for Health Policy.

Speakers included Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Justice, Alison Thewliss MP and Vonnie Sandlan, President of NUS Scotland.
