START:AV Advanced Training

Due to increased interest in using the START:AV tool, there’s a need to improve risk practice and increase the number of START:AV trainers in Scotland.

Becoming a START:AV trainer is a two-stage process. We are pleased to announce that Keith Cruise, one of the START:AV authors, will be coming to Glasgow to deliver a two day START:AV course on December 4 and 5. This training is the first stage in becoming a START:AV trainer and will provide an introduction to the START:AV tool and opportunities to complete practice cases.

The overall cost will be £248, payable via an online shop link – please note we cannot invoice for this event.

CYCJ cannot provide manuals, but highly recommend bringing a START-AV Manual with you on the day. If you do not already have access to a START-AV manual, these can be purchased by contacting David Massey at Northern Networking and requesting a START-AV order form. Please allow sufficient time for ordering and delivery prior to the training dates. Northern Networking only send out manuals upon receiving payment, so please be mindful of this if choosing an invoice option.

The second stage of becoming a trainer involves completing further practice cases, delivering training and receiving consultation via e-mail/teleconferences. The cost for stage two is approximately £600. More details will follow.

Please note that becoming a trainer in START-AV through this training hosted by CYCJ will allow you to train within your own organisation within Scotland and must be delivered on a not-for-profit basis.
