Youth Justice Service ‘high-risk’ management panels across England are a multi-agency coordinated approach to monitor and address concerns about children’s behaviour, harm, safety, and well-being. This webinar provides a space to hear about the use of these panels in England, to reflect upon the extent to which practitioners work in meaningful ways with children identified as ‘high-risk’ and to consider how these risk management processes and practices can be improved so that they align with children’s participation rights.
Two guest speakers deliver this webinar:
- Dr Samantha Burns; a Research Associate at the Manchester Centre for Youth Studies. Samantha is also co-chair of the National Association of Youth Justice and an advisory board member at Peer Power Youth.
- Dr Sean Creaney; a Criminologist and Senior Lecturer in the School of Law and Criminal Justice at Edge Hill University. Sean is a member of the Transdisciplinary Research for Youth Justice (TRYJustice) network and an associate of CYCJ. He recently co-edited “Knowledge and Skills Partnerships in Youth Justice” which looks at the role of knowledge in enhancing youth justice practice.
