CYCJ have now published their Annual Report for 2024-2025, covering activity from April 2024 to March 2025. This report sets out the significant achievements from this period, including highlights such as:
- The passing of the Children (Care and Justice) (Scotland) Act, effectively ending the imprisonment of children. This landmark moment signalled another step towards ensuring
that Scotland’s justice system respects children’s rights and provides the protection and support they are entitled under the UNCRC. - Director Fiona Dyer was promoted to Professor of Practice. This appointment reflects both the numerous contributions she has made to policy and practice development and reflects and the great work of the wider centre.
- Publishing the 2024 edition of CYCJ’s annual Youth Justice Practice Guidance
- Hosting the 2024 National Youth Justice Conference
- Publishing the Reimagining secure care report
- Publishing Youth justice in Scotland: still fit for the future?
- Publishing Challenges in Trauma-Informed Practice for Children in Police Custody
- Published the CYCJ Strategic Plan 2025-2028 with colleagues at the Ramshorn Theatre in
