IVY service to move to Kibble

The Interventions for Vulnerable Youth (IVY) service will close at CYCJ on October 31. From November 1, it will be based at the Kibble Education and Care Centre

Statement from Fiona Dyer, Interim Director of CYCJ:

“Since we made the announcement in July 2019 that Interventions for Vulnerable Youth (IVY) will no longer be based at CYCJ from October 31, 2019, we have been working closely with the Scottish Government and partners to find a suitable base that will allow this valuable service to continue. It is my pleasure to let you know that the IVY service will transition to Kibble with effect from November 1, 2019.
This is a very positive move, and we are confident that Kibble is the best place for this highly specialised national service to be as it enters the next stage of its journey.

“CYCJ will continue to work closely with Kibble to ensure continuity and focused support for the young people the service is currently working with. Going forward, we will document the learning from and the impact of the IVY service to ensure this can be utilised to improve youth justice systems in Scotland.

“It has been a privilege to host IVY since its inception in 2013. During this time, our team has worked with 31 local authorities and 221 children who present some of the most significant, serious and complex risks in the country.

“We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time of transition and genuinely hope that this has not caused any distress or concern to service users and their families.

“If you wish to discuss this further or have specific queries, please contact myself at CYCJ or Dan Johnson from Kibble at dan.johnson@kibble.org.”
