National Secure Care Project

The Scottish Government has granted funding to CYCJ to deliver the National Secure Care project, a fixed term project which will build on the publication of the Securing Our Future Initiative (SOFI) report in 2009, reviewing progress, providing support and recommending next steps.

Aims of the project include: identifying and helping to promote current best practice across the secure care sector; identifying and exploring the quality of alternatives to secure accommodation in children and young people’s services across Scotland; and building capacity to make comparisons with (and learn from) other administrations in the UK and beyond. You can read the project plan here.

Alison Gough has joined  CYCJ as Secure Care National Advisor. Alison will be with us until March 2017 to lead on a national project to support future developments in secure care.
