Participation Adviser vacancies

The Children and Young People’s Centre for Justice (CYCJ) is recruiting for two Participation Advisers (full-time and part-time) to join its team.

Do you want to help to improve how Scotland responds to children and young people who come into conflict with the law? Do you have a track record of delivering effective participation activity and working with key stakeholders? Are you approachable, courageous, optimistic, compassionate, innovative and determined? Then this exciting opportunity to work as a key part of CYCJ is for you.

As Participation Adviser, you will support the delivery of an ambitious participation strategy for CYCJ, be part of the ‘Reimagining Justice’ service, link with our Youth Justice Voices Project/STARR and help embed participation and the voice of lived experience across the youth justice sector.

You will have proven ability in engaging and building effective working relationships at all levels and a demonstrated ability to work autonomously. You will be able to communicate effectively to engage with children and young people with experience of the care and justice systems in order to amplify their voice and support systems change.

As part of the participation team, you’ll work closely with CYCJ staff who will lead on the delivery of a wide range of projects and programmes.

Secondments are welcome for both the full-time and part-time posts.  We would be grateful if you could state which role you wish to be considered for in your application.
