Vacancy – Deputy Director: Practice & Participation Lead

The Children and Young People’s Centre for Justice (CYCJ) is recruiting for a Deputy Director: Practice & Participation Lead.

As CYCJ’s Deputy Director, you will be expected to be, or to become, a respected leader for children and young people’s justice in Scotland, making a significant contribution to thinking nationally and over time internationally, and often raising difficult issues and concerns with stakeholders.

You will work with children and young people, practitioners, policy makers and researchers to achieve change. This will involve engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders across Scotland and internationally, and so requires an ability to bring different people and types of knowledge together in order to improve things. You will have specific responsibility for two workstreams; practice and policy development; and participation and engagement.

This post will also involve managing and leading on CYCJ’s practice, participation and engagement work streams; overseeing current strategic direction; leading on, and developing future strategies, and supervising all staff within these teams.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a talented team that’s passionate about transforming outcomes for children and young people in Scotland.

The closing date for this role is February 6. Interviews will be held on February 22. Please contact with any informal enquiries about the role.
