Young people – tell us what you think about COVID-19

Are you…

  • Aged over 18?
  • In contact with youth justice services/have previous experience of the youth justice system?
  • Keen to share your views and experiences of COVID-19 and lockdown, what has helped and what could be better to help improve support?

We want to hear from YOU.

Young people don’t always get a say in matters that affect them. We want to change this. Right now COVID-19 is affecting everyone and we want to hear about your views and experiences. So if you answered yes to the above questions and would like to speak to a member of our team to share your experiences, please get in touch.

What will this involve?

A member of our team will organise a time that suits you to speak on the phone or virtually, for example over Skype or Zoom. We will give you more information about this project and answer any questions you may have. If you agree to take part, we will have a conversation about COVID-19 related topics that have been developed based on issues and questions raised by the young people of Youth Just Us, the steering group behind the Youth Justice Voices project.

During this conversation we will write down your views. We won’t record your name and will not share your personal information. It will take no longer than 30 minutes.

What will we do with this information?

We will read everything you and other young people give us and write about this in a short report. This report will go on the CYCJ website and we will share it with people who can help make things better, such as the Children and Young People’s Commissioner Scotland, whose job it is to protect and promote children’s rights.

How can I find out more?

Email us at or give us a phone on 0141 444 8622.

Please help us by sharing this with the young people you work with. A digital version is available here.
