Children’s Hearing System Redesign – Scottish Government Consultation Response

This consultation is part of a series of steps from the Scottish Government aimed at redesigning the Children’s Hearings System (CHS) so that it can deliver the best possible experience to the children and families in need of its support. It focusses on areas which may require changes to the law.

This includes making sure that every child and family member involved in the CHS, are supported to have their needs meet and their rights respected, including to meaningfully participate and follow the process. The consultation also explores how the panel members and professionals involved can be best supported and if there are any changes to procedure and how the CHS works which can be made to improve it.  You can read the consultation paper which has more background information.
