Preparing to Keep The Promise: A Comparative Study of Secure Care and Young Offender Institutions in Scotland

As part of the Children’s Care and Justice Bill Scotland is preparing to end the practice of housing children in YOI’s.

In this report Dr Ruby Whitelaw and Ross Gibson compare the needs and experiences of children in the secure care population with those of children housed in YOI’s.
