Secure Care Pathway and Standards: implementation report

The Secure Care Pathway and Standards outline what children in, or on the edges of, secure care should expect in terms of care and support. It is an essential framework for improving outcomes and upholding the rights of children and young people.

The Secure Care Pathway and Standards were introduced in October 2020. In this report Debbie Nolan, Dr Ruby Whitelaw and Ross Gibson explore what progress has been made during the first phase of implementation; examining the different approaches taken by different local authority areas and secure care centres across Scotland the authors outline what has helped and hindered the implementation of this important framework.
