This Information Sheet is designed to provide information for local authorities regarding
reviews for all children (aged under 18) and young people (aged under 21) in custody, as
part of the Whole System Approach extension. Since its inception in 2011 the plan was
always for the Whole System Approach to include provision for children and young
people under 21.
It was updated in 2023 by Dr Ruby Whitelaw, and should be read in conjunction with the Template for Reviews for Young People in Custody. (See link)
