Since qualifying as a Chartered Forensic Psychologist in 2001 Carole has worked in both adult and youth justice settings. Between 1999 and 2013 she worked in the Scottish Prison Service where a large focus of her work was providing assessment and intervention opportunities for people who had broken the law as well as developing and delivering training. As a Senior Psychologist Carole was also responsible for supporting the development of forensic psychologists in training and overseeing national projects and strategic priorities. In 2013 Carole moved to work in the Children and Families Department at the City of Edinburgh Council where she was employed as the Programme Manager to set up and manage two Multi-systemic Therapy teams.
Carole joined CYCJ in 2016 where her role is largely focused on workforce development, developing and delivering training. She is the Course Lead for CYCJ’s Postgraduate Certificate on Children and Young People in Conflict with the Law and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Carole has an interest in data and measuring outcomes for children and young people and is a member of the Youth Justice Improvement Board’s Data subgroup.
