Dr Haley Sneed (she/her)

Participation Advisor

Dr Haley Sneed is CYCJ’s Participation Advisor, leading on participation and engagement with children and young people in conflict with the law. She works to ensure that children’s voices and lived experiences inform policy, practice, and systems change across youth justice in Scotland.

Haley’s background spans youth work, community development, participatory research, and higher education. She has held youth work leadership roles and taught at the University of Glasgow. Haley holds a PhD from the University of Glasgow, an MEd in Adult Education, Community Development, and Youth Work, and an MSc in Academic and Career Advising.

Haley is particularly interested in children’s rights, participation, trauma-informed and relational approaches, and creating meaningful opportunities for children and young people to use their lived experience to influence policy and practice
