Template for Reviews for Young People in Custody

Under the Whole System Approach, all young people under the age of 21 (up to 26 where local authorities have additional responsibilities) where the local authority has agreed this with SPS as part of the Whole System Approach extension, should have multi-agency reviews throughout their time in custody. The tie and timescales for reviews vary and reference should be made to Information Sheet 44 for further information. Following requests by local authorities and the Scottish Prison Service, CYCJ worked with partners to develop a template for reviews. This template aims to bring consistency to the chairing and recording of reviews and to assist planning by highlighting the key areas to be discussed at each review.

This template was updated in February 2024 by Dr Ruby Whitelaw.
